Are you looking to learn and develop a new practical craft-related skill? If so, this could be the job for you. Due to our continued growth CalX Instrumentation Services are looking to recruit an Electrical/Instrumentation Apprentice based out of our office in Kells, Co Meath.

The apprenticeship programme is a 4-year standard based apprenticeship.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, apprentices are qualified to work within the recognised trade or profession.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete all training, both on and off-site phases as per SOLAS Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship training programme curriculum.
Provide Electrical / Instrumentation / Calibration support to all areas of the business.
Install, test and troubleshoot site electrical systems, PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers), PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) and carry out assigned electrical duties.
Complete both scheduled and unscheduled Electrical and Calibration maintenance activities. Calibration of various types of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, level flow and analytical instruments or others as required.
Education & Experience:
A Leaving Certificate qualification to include a math’s and a science or engineering subject as a minimum.
Previous work experience or completion of pre-apprenticeship course would be viewed as an advantage.
Full clean driving license required as company vehicle will be provided.
Strong Technical aptitude and a drive for further education and training.
Ability to work as part of a successful team.

CalX Instrumentation Services are a nationwide onsite calibration provider to Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage Industries and are also authorised verifiers for the NSAI (Legal Metrology Service). We are looking to expand on our team of calibration technicians. Successful candidates will receive industry leading levels of pay, a company vehicle, contributory pension and expenses.

Complete calibrations for various clients nationwide, update documentation and help manage the calibration management system.
Typical types of calibrations include temperature, pressure, mass, flow, level, conductivity and ph.
Complete calibration as per client’s calibration schedule and procedures.
Act in a professional and responsible manner so at to ensure full compliance with all regulatory and statutory and client requirements.
Liaise with management and equipment owners to ensure efficient, timely and minimal production downtime for all calibrations.
Maintain all documentation and calibration software in an organised and controlled manner.
Qualified craft technicians or applied instrumentation and physics degree with relevant experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent computer literacy.
Min. of 2 years relevant industry experience.
